When I´m looking to join TKT I have no idea about what TKT would be. To be honest my main goal joining TKT was keep in touch with the language and increases my vocabulary. I mean after finish 9th semester of English at languages department my main aim was took FCE test. FCE still is one of my main goals, but my expectations about English as a language have changed in a positive way.
I set new goals as soon as I figured out what TKT offered and meant. One of those was to know teaching strategies and developing teaching skills. Now that TKT have finished I feel the necessity to increase my teaching knowledge and of course to acquire teaching experience as possible.
However, as some of you guys I share my English knowledge with a professional degree, whose purpose it´s distinct than teaching languages. But finally they are not indifferent each other. This is the genesis of other of my new goals, which is applying this knowledge to one of the different faces of the architecture.
I hope this won´t be a send-off, because we need each other to share our teaching experiences, to give ideas and to help ourselves solving doubts.
I hope to see you soon…

As Larry Ferlazzo said in his post about bloom´s taxonomy “we can found better sites and more information about bloom´s taxonomy but we must to find a practical use of it”. I keep thinking on that because I found that important for my teaching skills develop.
Moreover when somebody works whit a defined needs just like a school program, it is necessary visualize the way that we could cover all of them. We can be based on bloom´s taxonomy for cover it properly.
Bloom´s taxonomy would help me to organize my ideas; define and distribute my workload; future problems preventing; enrich my teaching skills, inter alia. To summarize bloom´s taxonomy can contribute in the improving of my work style.
Watching an authentic piece of art: La sagrada familia by gaudí.
Knowledge: Where is located this building?
Comprehension: Why there are cranes in the building?
Application: If you were its designer, what name do you give to this building?
Analysis: What do you think this building is used for?
Synthesis: at first sight, what do you think this building looks like?
Evaluation: compare this building with other similar: what aspects do you like for each one? How many similarities could you find?

A new task has been required for improving our usage of online tools. Personally, I like to use new internet applications. As well, I´m trying to take advantage of this kind of tasks. I kept thinking about what Ellen told us in past class; that we should avoid the use of PPTs instead we could use glogsters. Until that moment I was sure that PPTs were the best choice to post a topic.
I was intrigued about what was a glogster and then I decided to experience that. Firstly, a glogster is an online poster that exhibits specific information about anything you want to research.
We could find many glogster hosts; in this case we used www. glogster.com and it has gone well for me. Glogster dashboard has an intuitive interface, so we can edit a glogster from scratch without several impediments.
I liked working with this online tool because is a graphic environment that complements itself with internet media applications; I think this is the most important contribution. We can add online references such a post in a blog or a Wikipedia article. Yes I know that Wikipedia articles tend to be vandalized, but these kind of online sources are the best choice to be updated.
About the teamwork, glogster helps us a lot because it gives us the opportunity of divide the tasks between the teammates and develop it gradually.
In the other hand, working in groups gives us benefits, but problems too. When something goes wrong we should get relaxed and be tolerant. Don´t take it too seriously! At the end of the day it is just a dynamic, is not a life or death case.
Greetings.

I summarize my own idea about graphic organizers in this following graphic:

I found some graphic organizer in this site: http://www.eduplace.com/graphicorganizer/
Firstly I found this (print screen) one which could help in a literacy circle. PDF version

Next this one could be a good chooice for planning an activity, or something like that. PDF version.

Finally the last one could help us in the research of a specific topic. PDF version

One Benefit that I found usefull in Literacy circles is teamwork. As I said in my preview vocabulary post, working in groups gives you a different points of view and this always feedback knowledge. In this case everyone has a different role, and everybody helps to develop an specific research. So this is great because everyone talks, discuss and work. Besides that literacy circles gives you a responsibility in reference at the group.
Also while we work in literacy circles we can practice our lenguage skills like reading, listening, writing and speaking. In fact through this skills we obtain sub skills like coherence, cohesion, and the most important comprehension.

Something I have done when I have to learn new vocabulary is memorizing. Memorize is not always a good technique to learn, because you tend to forget it quickly. A technique that works for me is assosiate the vocabulary with something graphic, just as we learned in the last Friday class. We always remember funny anecdotes, jokes or talks so we could try with things like that.
Another way that I like to employ it´s to review in grouping, because we cover diferent points of view therefore we assimilate different ideas. For me this is a good technique to acquire knowledge like vocabulary or anything else.

As many of us this is my first blog and consequently this is my first post too. I find peculiar writing this, but I hope get used as soon as. By the way let me tell you something: before I get registered to TKT course, I was undecided because of my last English semester. I was frightened by the English level that is required by the FCE. However I Think If I put off my learning English, I hardly ever get an international certificate. Specially If we leave up our English learning and practicing, we forget little by little our knowledge. For those reasons I decided to keep studying English. In the first class of the TKT course, I had the impression of a dynamic class. Furthermore I like an interactive learning, so it probably will be a good experience for me.
